ICYMI: Welch earns Bradford County endorsements
Support further proves Welch’s state-wide support and appeal
Towanda, PA – Yesterday, Republican endorsed Senate candidate Steve Welch received the endorsement of Bradford County Commissioners Doug McLinko and Daryl Miller and Bradford County Republican Chairman Eric Matthews. These endorsements further add to Welch’s vast statewide appeal as the Republican candidate to run against the liberal Bob Casey.
“Steve is just the type of person we need in Washington today,” said Daryl Miller. “The chance for future generations to have their version of the American Dream is being threatened and we need leaders in Washington that will fight to get this economy going again. The economy is the most important issue for everyone today and Senator Casey has shown that he is not a leader when it comes to getting this economy going again.”
Commissioner Doug McLinko knows that Pennsylvanians deserve a fiscally responsible leader who will work to rein in this nation’s out-of-control Casey-Obama spending agenda.
“Steve’s background as an entrepreneur is just what is needed today,” McLinko said. “He understands what it takes to make a budget and stick to it. The current spending levels in Washington today are not sustainable. Steve understands that we need to rein in the size of our federal government and make the tough decisions to show the American people and the world that we are committed to getting our fiscal house in order.”
Bradford County Republican Chairman Eric Matthews echoed the sentiments of McLinko and Miller and knows that Casey has only continued to remain in lock-step with the Obama spending agenda as Pennsylvanians are demanding a change.
“Steve Welch isn’t a career politician,” Matthews said. “He’s a businessman who knows how to create jobs and get Pennsylvanians back to work. We can’t afford four more years of President Obama and we definitely can’t afford six more years of Senator Bob Casey. Steve Welch embodies the type of leadership we need in the U.S. Senate.”
Upon receiving the endorsements, Welch commented: “I am glad to receive the endorsement of Commissioners McLinko and Miller and Chairman Matthews,” said Republican endorsed Senate candidate Steve Welch. “The people of Bradford County know we cannot afford the Obama lock-step liberal in Bob Casey. When elected to the Senate, I will create pro-growth policies that will restore long-term economic growth and create jobs for Pennsylvanians, many of them here in Bradford County.”
About Steve
The son of an engineer and teacher, Steve Welch grew up in Chester County, Pennsylvania and attended Penn State University where he earned a Mechanical Engineering degree. Steve, his wife Nicole, and their three young children live in Chester County. Steve started his first major business enterprise, Mitos, in 2001 with hardly a cent to his name. Under Steve’s guidance Mitos developed several critical patents which transformed the biological drug and vaccine industries. The company still resides in Phoenixville, PA under Parker Hannifin guidance. Following the sale of Mitos, Steve co-founded DreamIt Ventures, a new business accelerator model that has been featured in Forbes, USA Today, and the Wall Street Journal as a new model for launching technology companies. In just four years, DreamIt Ventures has helped launch 64 new companies. From this experience, Steve has worked with hundreds of early stage entrepreneurs to turn their dreams into reality. As an Eisenhower Fellow, Steve spent time in Asia and Europe studying all aspects of economic development, examining how government policy, technology, and culture impact job creation. In 2010, Steve published We are all Born Entrepreneurs, in which he uses his story and those of over a dozen other entrepreneurs to explain what drives invention, innovation, and job creation. In 2011, he founded the education technology company KinderTown, a business designed to help parents engage in their children’s education at an early age.
