Healthcare

It is important to remember that while the United States medical system can certainly be improved, it has had a tremendous impact on the quality of life for Americans over the last century. The average life expectancy in 1900 was 49, today it is almost 80. This is because American innovation has lead to almost every major medical invention in the last hundred years. From our medical device industry to our biotechnology industry, one shining example of America’s ability to innovate and create jobs is our healthcare industry.

ObamaCare is not only bad for healthcare; it is bad economic policy which is hurting our overall economy. It has created so much uncertainty for our businesses and job creators that they are not investing back into their own businesses. In addition, it is clear that it is only going to increase healthcare costs in our country, which are making American companies less competitive in a global environment.

ObamaCare should be repealed. We need healthcare reform that focuses on addressing healthcare costs

1) Create a competitive marketplace where insurance companies and medical practitioners have to compete to win your business.

2) Introduce real tort reform, which will reduce the cost of defensive medicine, while at the same time reducing insurance costs paid by doctors and hospitals.

3) Give individuals and small businesses the same health insurance tax treatment that large corporations have.

These principles will reduce the costs of healthcare, and allow for greater insurance coverage which every American wants.
